South India Tour

Day 1     Arrival: Cochin (International Flights to be advised)

Meet on arrival and transfer to your hotel Arches. (Standard room)

Day 2     Cochin / Agati (Lakshadweep Islands) (B/D)

After breakfast transfer to airport for your flight to Agati.

Meet on arrival & transfer to Agati Island Beach Resort. (non air-con room)

Day 3     Agati Island Beach Resort (B/L/D) – At leisure 

Day 4     Agati Island Beach Resort (B/L/D) – At leisure 

Free to enjoy the island...snorkel/scuba etc. - pay directly.

Day 5     Agati / Cochin (B)

Noon Transfer to airport for flight to Cochin.

Day 6    Cochin / Trivandrum (B) to Maldives

After early b’fast drive to Trivandrum, 4hrs to connect flight to Male.

Meet on arrival and transfer by speed boat to Paradise Island Resort (Deluxe Beach  Front Room with breakfast).

Day 7    Maldives (B) – At leisure

Day 8    Maldives (B) – At leisure

Day 9    Maldives – Colombo, Sri Lanka (B)

Room until noon – Transfer by speed boat to the airport for your flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Flight times to be advised on Sri Lankan Airlines (UL)

Arrival in Sri Lanka. Meet and assist, transfer to your hotel in Colombo.

Day 10     Colombo / Sigiriya (B)

Morning, undertake a brief city tour of Colombo – a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree lined residential Cinnamon Gardens.  Visit Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarter in Pettah, the bazaar area, a Hindu Temple, the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1794, the historical Davatagaha Mosque.  Also visit Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara (Buddhist Temple) believed to be the site visited by Lord Buddha 2,500 years ago

In the evening, leave for Sigiriya to climb the 5th century A.D. Rock Fortress.  The vision of a patricidal king named Kasyapa transformed an awesome monolith into a cloud swept city.  The mirror wall, which, protects a series of exquisite murals (frescoes of celestial maidens using natural pigments) and the Lion’s Paw entrance to the ruined palace on the summit are well worth the effort of the ascent.

Day 11    Sigiriya / Matale / Kandy (B)

Morning leave Kandy en route visiting the spice gardens at Matale.  Kandy was the seat of the Kandyan Kings from the 14th century A.D. and is a repository of Sinhala culture.

Afternoon undertake a city tour of Kandy – drive around the beautiful lake and the upper lake drive.  Visit the Arts and Crafts centre where you can buy Kandyan silver and brass ware, Metal work, Lacquer work, Wood and bone carvings, Pottery and Hand woven fabrics.  Demonstrations of artisans at work. 

Visit the Temple of the tooth. (Dalada Maligawa) where the sacred relic of Buddha is enshrined.

Overnight With Brekafast – Hotel Thilanka  (standard room)

Day 12    Kandy / Pinnawala / Negombo (B)

Morning visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, a formerly the pleasure gardens of the Sinhala Queens.  The gardens contain over 4000 species of plants.  The avenue of the Royal Palms, the bamboo fringed Riverside drive, the Bat drive with a vast collection of flying foxes who spend the daylight hours hanging upside down, are some of the special features of this lovely garden.  There is also an Orchid house, a Spice garden, a Herb garden and Glass house of Anthuriums, Begonias, African Violets and other greenhouse plants.

Then leave for Pinnawala, the elephant orphanage.

Afternoon leave for Negombo.

Day 13    Negombo / Madras (So India) (B)

Morning leave for the airport for departure flight to Madras (Chennai).
On arrival meet, assist and transfer to your hotel Savera. (standard room)

Day 14          Madras / Port Blair (B) Andaman Islands

Transfer to airport connect flight to Port Blair.

Meet and transfer by car to boat jetty, board 2 PM ferry for Havelock island (cruise time is approximately  3 to 4 hrs). Upon arrival you will be met by the hotel car and staff to transfer you to Barefoot Resort (non air con cottage) on Havelock Island.

Day 15       Bare Foot Resort  (B)  (Non air con cottage)

At leisure to enjoy the beautiful beach and amazing snorkeling and diving. 
                 
Hotel has all equipment that can be rented by paying directly.

DAY 16      Havelock Island / Port Blair  (B)

Transfer to jetty to board the afternoon Ferry back to Port Blair. Transfer to Fortune Bay Hotel. (standard room)

Day 17     Port Blair / Madras (B)

Early morning transfer from hotel to airport.

A visa is not required for Maldives or Sri Lanka for a stay of up to 30 days.

Passport – Your passport must be valid for six (6) months beyond your last date of travel and contain a minimum of two blank pages.

Insurance - We highly recommend trip protection insurance and we can assist you in obtaining this valuable coverage, at competitive rates.

Booking conditions - We request a deposit of $500.00 per person, to proceed with all reservations. The balance is due 60 days prior to departure, and final documents are sent 30 days prior to departure.

Terms of booking - We request a signed copy of our terms and conditions which details our cancellation policies and terms of booking. We also need a clear copy of your passport. (Please enlarge to 120%).

Rates - All rates are quoted are based on current tariffs and rates of exchange and are subject to change. Government taxes are based on current rates and are subject to change. Rates quoted are valid for travel from 01 October - 31 December 2011.  Excludes: Christmas and New Year’s supplements.

Airfares - All airfares quoted are subject to change, unless ticketed. Once reservation is confirmed ticketing must be completed within seven (7) days. All discount fares are subject to penalties for changes and cancellations after ticketing. No mileage credit.
