DAY 1 – 15 THU  - ARRIVAL: DELHIMeet, assist on arrival and transfer to hotel Oberoi Maidens.

 

day 2 - 16  FRI     DELHI –(B) AM: Sightseeing tour of New Delhi.

Lotus Temple New Delhi: The capital of the country has long been a phoenix rising again and again out of its ruins.  Delhi is really seven cities in one, the first dating from the 11th century.  See the famous Qutab Minar-12th Century 238 ft. High Stone Tower, indeed a masterpiece of construction, Humayun's Tomb-Built by widow of the second Mughal King Humayun in 1265. New Delhi was the creation of the British Raj of the 30's and includes The President's

House, Parliament, India Gate, the Rajpath and downtown Connaught Place PM: Sightseeing tour of Old Delhi.

 Old Delhi: For something close to Rudyard Kipling, visit the 17th century Old Delhi;  Jama Masjid, the biggest Mosque in India.  Rajghat Memorial where Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Evening: Visit an Indian home for drinks and meet up with an Indian family.

 

DAY 3 – 17 SAT- DELHI/AGRA(B) - Drive to Agra visiting Bahai temple & Vrindavan Isckon temple                           en-route (4 hrs). On arrival check-in at hotel Trident Hilton.

 

 

DAY 4 - 18 SUN   AGRA (B)

City Tour of Agra visiting Taj Mahal & Red fort followed by Sound & Light show on theReplica of Taj Mahal at Oswal Emporium.

The Taj Mahal, unquestionably the world's most magnificent monument to over built in 17th century.  A colossal, perfectly proportioned mass of white marble, it is literally a jewel, fashioned over 20 years of hundreds of skilled craftsmen and over 20,000 laborers to float like some fantastic mirage upon the Yamuna. (Kindly note Taj Mahal is closed on Friday)

The Agra Fort was once the flourishing Centre of the Mughal Dynasty, and four successive emperors helped to create its massive walls, within which Hindu and Muslim styles merge into a splendid fusion of military might and lavish beauty.

DAY 5 – 19 MON- AGRA/JAIPUR(B) Drive to Jaipur (5HRS 30MIN) visiting Fatehpur Sikri en-route.

 

Buland Drawaza Fatehpur Sikri, Agra Fatehpur Sikri: About 40 km from Agra lays the magnificent deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, the capital of the great emperor Akbar. During his brief stay here, a great Complex of Forts, palaces and Mosques sprang up, but Akbar was finally forced to abandon his dream city due to scarcity of water, and subsequently it became a Ghost Town.  This epic poem in sandstone lies straddled across a rocky ridge, surrounded by immense walls with nine gates.  The largest of the gates is the Buland Darwaza which leads to the Jama Masjid             and to the Fantastic Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti which lies under an elaborate marble canopy and is lavishly inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl. Continue drive to Jaipur on arrival check-in at hotel. P.M. - visit Chokhi Dhani ethnic Fun Park. O/n hotel Trident Hilton.

 

DAY 6 - 20 TUE-   JAIPUR (B)- A.M.: Excursion to Amber Fort with Elephant Ride.

    Amber (Palace) Fort: The original palace of the local rulers was built in the 17th century high     up on a hill overlooking a lake, just below the vast and somber walls of the ancient Fort of  Amber.  The Rowers and Domes of The Amber Palace are reminiscent of scenes from some Fairy-Tale. Its Halls of Victory is richly decorated with panels of alabaster with fine inlay work of tender colors.  You ascend up the palace on board gaily caparisoned Elephants, as did the Maharaja's of Yore.

    Afternoon: Sightseeing Tour of Jaipur Visiting City Palace, Palace of Winds & Observatory.     

    Jaipur City: This 18th century city (Capital of Rajasthan) is famed as "The Pink City", because of the local Rose-Pink-Sandstone used in its construction. The fortifications give it a medieval atmosphere, but its well-planned layout is "Modern", built in 1728. Visit Maharaja's City-Palace, situated in the heart of the city with charming gardens surrounded by high walls;Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal), a uniquely designed five -story structure with tiers of over hanging Balconies of Pink Sandstone; Maharaja Jai Singh after whom the city was named,  being a keen astronomer built an astronomical observatory which is still in use. It is made of masonry instruments of remarkable size. Later walk around local bazaar. O/n Trident Hilton.

 

DAY 7 - 21 WED- JAIPUR/PUSHKAR (B)- Drive to Pushkar (3 hrs). On arrival check-in at hotel.       Puskar Fair ,Pushkar             PM: Enjoy Pushkar fair

    Pushkar Fair: The biggest of Rajasthan's numerous Fairs, Pushkar takes its name from the Pushkar Lake near Ajmer where it is held annually.  A dip in the holy waters of the lake is considered auspicious.  A huge cattle market is Pushkar's biggest draw.  Where farmers and breeders buy and sell cattle, camels, and horses inspirited biddings.  A township of colorful tents transforms the arid landscape.  Leather sales in Whips, Bits, Shoes, embroidered animal covers and inlaid leather saddles predominate.  The Pushkar Mela ends as it begins, in an endless stream of Bullock-Carts, Camels and Jeeps. Wending, a weary but satisfied way homewards.  Lunch (L) and Dinner (D).  Overnight in your deluxe tents.

DAY 8 - 22 THU-(B)PUSHKAR - Full day to enjoy Pushkar fair. B,L,D.

 

DAY 9 – 23 FRI-PUSHKAR/JODHPUR (B)Drive Pushkar/Jodhpur (5 to 6 hrs) visiting old village of ChandelaoGarh en-route. O/n at Ajit Bhawan Palace.

 

DAY 10 – 24 SAT-   JODHPUR (B) AM: city tour of Jodhpur.

    Jodhpur city: this ancient capital city of Marwar is surrounded by a stone wall (almost 9 kms in circumference) with seven gates separating it from the sands that stretch out on all sides. Dominating the city is a massive impregnable fortress situated on a rocky scrapped hill.  Within the fort walls are number of old palaces, with priceless jewels and interesting collection of arms. On the walls of entry gate are stone-palm-impressions of the widows, who ages ago immolated themselves upon the pyres of their departed husbands. Sightseeing includes the visit to the fort palaces, drive around the city and walk in local bazaar where great bargains can be found.

    PM: Visit to Mandore Garden: about 8 kms to the north of Jodhpur is Mandore, the old capital of marwar, abandoned for strategic reasons.  The gardens at the foot of the hill havecommemorative cenotaphs of the former rulers of Jodhpur. O/n at Ajit Bhawan Palace.

 

DAY 11 - 25 SUN-JODHPUR/KUMBHALGARH (B)-Drive to Kumbhalgarh visit Ranakpur enroute.

Ranakpur: 90KMS from Udaipur in a quiet isolated glen, is a remarkable complex of Jain Temples of Ranakpur  (1440AD). Built during the reign of the liberal and gifted monarch Rana Kumbha, these temples, though   belonging to a late period (15th century), when the    peak of the classical age was already past, are a unique example of Jain religious    architecture.   The entire enclosure is encircled by a wall.  One temple consists of 29 halls and 426 pillars full of sculptural decoration, where no two pillars are alike. Then continue drive to Kumbhalgarh.  On arrival check-in at hotel Aodhi.

Afternoon: Visit KUMBHALGARH FORT which is the second most important fort in Rajasthan after Chittaurgarh. This fort was built in the 15th century by Maharana Khumba.  It is built atop the Aravalli hills. It also has its name in Guinness book of world records as having second largest wall in world –36 kms after Great Wall of China. O/n Aodhi hotel.

 

DAY 12 - 26 MON-  KUMBHALGARH/UDAIPUR (B)- Drive to Udaipur (2 hrs)

                Visit  Eklingji/Nagda temples en-route.

Eklingji Temple: 22kms. From Udaipur, is a Temple built in 734 a.d. Cut out of sandstone                       and marble. This is a complex of 108 Temples enclosed by High Walls.  The Temple is                             devoted to this particular deity who was worshipped by The Maharanas of Mewar.

Nagda: Very close to Eklingji is Nagda, named after its founder Nagaditya and is one of the                    most ancient places in Mewar.  There is Hindu and Jain Temples, notable among which is the                              Sas-Bahu Temple dedicated to Vishnu. Continue drive to              Udaipur.  On arrival check-in at hotel. In the evening take a           boat ride at Lake Pichola. O/n Paras Mahal

 

DAY 13 – 27 TUE-UDAIPUR (B)-AM:sightseeing tour of Udaipur

Udaipur city: visiting, city palace - situated on elevation on the eastern bank of Lake Pichola; Jagdish temple-close   to the city palace is this 17th century temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu; Lake Fatehsagar; Nehru Island Park; jet fountain; Maharana Pratap memorial overlooking lake Fatehsagar is Moti Magri hill. The hill now is dedicated to the memory of Maharana Pratap, the greatest hero of Mewar; Sahelion-ki-badi - the garden has several fountains. When working, they create the illusion of drizzle and then rain.  There are four elephants cut of single marble rocks.  O/n Paras Mahal.

       

DAY 14 - 28 WED-    UDAIPUR/DELHI –(B)  Transfer to airport.

                        DEP: UDAIPUR          1530 HRS        9W708  (Jet Airways)

                        ARR: DELHI              1640 HRS

                        Meet on arrival and transfer to Ashok Country Resort to rest and freshen up before flight.

 

DEPARTURE DELHI - Transfer to International airport for flight to Singapore on Singapore Airlines flight # SQ407 departing at 11.15pm. Check in around 8.15pm.

Visa - A visa is required for travel to India and we can assist you with this.  The cost for the visa for India is $60 per person, plus postage and handling of $30 per person.  Your passport must be valid 6 months after last date of travel.

Booking conditions - We request a deposit of $500 per person, to proceed with all reservations. The balance is due 60 days prior to departure, and final documents are sent 30 days prior to departure.
